Hello people,
im stuck in bad situation.
I have downloaded FC-5 from the net and stored it in my harddisk and i
dont have a cd-writer.
So i wanted to install FC-5 from the harddisk. i copied the vmlinuz
and initrd images of FC-55-disc1.iso to my boot partion and created an
entry in grub.conf.
To my excitement i was able to start the installation program of Fedora
and was able to select the partition in the harddrive where i had
stored the *.iso files.
But as soon as i selected FC-disk1.iso file, the message popped up
"installation ended abnormally" ..."send kill " .. etc etc and the
system was hung.
Plaese help me solve this problem, i have some serious work to be done
and i have spend a couple of nights solving this, plz help me.

Waiting for ur responses
Thanking u all

I've never done a hard disk installation.... but I'm almost
100% certain that ANY Fedora Installation is going to want to
find .rpm files... not a .iso image. If you can use the
shell to so something like
mkdir /Fedora
mount -o loop FC-disk1.iso /Fedora
and mount the .iso image as a loop device, then you
can access the .rpm files from the /Fedora directory.

If you have a newtwork card that is recognized by the
boot disk and you have a local web server handy, you
can loop mount your .iso there and do a network install.

What ever path you take... you need to be able tell Fedora
where the .rpm files are that it is going to want to install.

I quite agree with Jack! This method is sure to work. I mean just loop mount
your .iso and then use nfs server or ftp server to make it available for
network installation.

Im very sure it will work if your server configurations are ok!
