Re: sbin and basic commands

Hello!
Whenever I try to execute a basic command such as ifconfig, Fedora tells
me that it can't find the command. I then try /sbin/ifconfig and it
works. Can anyone advise me on what I need to do to eliminate the need
to type /sbin/ when using such commands?
Thanks
add the sbin directory to the PATH variable for your shell
(from someone not as well versed in linux as he should be, but if I have
misused a term a google search will point that out; terms: add sbin path
linux)
