ftp installation goes to CD instead

I have a test server running RHEL 4 configured with ftp. I'm using it
to study for the RHCT/E. I have vsftp set up to serve the Redhat
directory from /var/ftp/pub. When I boot to the RHEL 4 cd I choose
'linux askmethod' so I can select ftp as my installation source.
It will get me to the screen which asks for the ftp server name or IP
and the directory that the image file can be found in. I enter the
server IP and select /pub as the directory (since it should
automatically append Redhat/base/imagefile to the directory I give it).
Instead of looking for the FTP server or even giving me an error,
though, it starts a local-media installation and loads the CD. What am
I doing wrong? I have anonymous logins enabled in vsftpd.conf and I'm
not using the option to provide non-anonymous login credentials. Why
would it go directly to the CD instead of connecting to the server?
