There is no fdisk any more. There is diskpart for Windows, and various
tools for Linux.
Does diskpart destroy or retain data on the disk? I read a bit about
different tools with Linux, but it seems everyone has a preference but no
real details about how/when/where to use them. Most of what is written is
so full of techniques and terminologies that only someone who is already an
experienced Linux user can understand them. That's probably what frustrates
me the most when doing this.
On the other hand, I've used the partitioning tools for Fedora, Redhat,
and Mandriva. The ones that are on the install CD. They couldn't be
much simpler.
