IT IS A MERCURY POCKET DV 4 IN 1
suse knows this and correctly lists it in usb devices
it also has listed the scanner and the usb flashdisk drive (which i
wasnt expecting!)

i have done nothing other than look into th edevices manager , yast2

tried to find it in multimedia sub menus where there are no camera programs,
i have looked into adding software (from the 7 cd's) via the yast
software icons

hope this helps but i am purely a gui linux user, any attempts i
have made to write or change scripts has never worked!, they didnt
save is my guess on that
