There's a post from me at 2:06pm that clearly indicates that I was sorry
about the html posting and that my onboard graphics is disabled.... I'll
post it again for ya. (maybe it didn't show up for you for some reason)

"Sorry about the html thing... must've hit the wrong send option...
here's how it was supposed to look

I have 256 MB of SDRAM... and my video card is an AGP and has 64 MB... I
guess there is onboard graphics that I'm not using.

Here's the specs for the mobo:
FX41
Form Factor : Small Form Factor
CPU Socket : AMD Socket A, support 266/200MHz FSB CPU
Chipsets : North bridge-VIA KM266, South bridge-VIA 8235
Memory : Spoort DDR 266/200 * 2
On Board VGA : VIA Savage8, 8-32 MB VGA share memory
On Board Audio : Realtek ALC650 support 5.1 channel audio, Support
Digital SPDIF In/Out
Expansion Slot : PCI * 1, AGP * 1
IDE interface : ATA-133

What would you suggest I try with that? ram=248
----------------------------------------------------------
at any rate, the onboard graphics is disabled in the BIOS
I also tried the command... "mem=248" (also tried 247, etc...) nothing
worked
I still only get a line that says "Uncompressing Linux... Ok, booting
the kernel" and I only get that when I use the command "vga=normal"
There are no jumpers on this mobo to disable the onboard graphics...
only via BIOS... and it seems to work because when I plug the monitor
into it, I get no picture at all."
--------------------------------------------------------------
Ok, here's the situation. I've been posting on this subject for about a
week now and nobody has been able to help me (including Suse). So I've
reposted this thread with the subject "Can Nobody Help Me?" It used to
be called "Can't Install Suse 8.1"
Anyway, I wasn't trying to be a smartass. I only said I had posted that
I already tried what you suggested. If that offends you then I am sorry.

Onboard graphics are disable via BIOS. I use an AGP GeForce Ti 4200
graphics card instead. When I plug the monitor into the onboard card, I
get no picture at all. To me this means that it is infact disabled.
