koncd

Hello all, I am trying to use KonCD for backup use. I followed instructions
(I think) and in particular I did
            chown root /usr/bin/cdrecord
            chmod 4711 /usr/bin/cdrecord
but if I then ask koncd to "copy CD" it says
    /usr/bin/cdrecord: no such file or directory.No read access for ".
A similar message comes if I try "master". Please tell me what might be
wrong. The file does in fact exist with permissions rws--x--x.
