No need to buy anything if your modem is connected via a network card. Go
to ftp://ftp.mirror.ac.uk/sites/ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/current/boot
and download the boot.iso file, burn it to a cd (open your cd-writing app,
click on file and choose burn disc from image then browse to boot.iso and
burn.).Boot from the cd and follow the instructions.Be sure to load up the
relevent driver (module) for the network card you are using and choose
DHCP when asked. The IP address of the installation server is 194.83.57.15
and the path on the server to the installation directory is
/sites/ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/current/ .Installation takes about four
hours on a 600 kbps connection and in my experience the installation
choked on the openoffice rpm, just skip it, you can come back to it.Give
it a go! I love SuSE Linux!
