I'm not sure whether or not 8.2 contains the e1000 module - installing
SuSE 8.2 fresh does not detect the integrated controller.
The status remains the same whether or not I compile and install the
driver separately.
I know the controller works because booting XP I use it to connect to
the net via ADSL.
I have attached below a copy of my bootmsg...eth0 initialisation fails
