Some of the follow-up posts have been dropped from my server but, I
have the same issue under 8.2 Personal.
Here is my version. I have a removable DVD/CD drive. It goes with my
Sony Vaio laptop.
1). The drive works fine and can be mounted when it has data files on
it.
2). I have no trouble playing DVDs (now that I upgraded to the latest
Xine) and MP3 files from the drive etc.
3). I can Play CDs but have NO sound output. I have checked all the
various mixer types available. CD audio is set.
Question). As thei removable drive has NO audio cables running to the
soundcard as in a desktop PC, is that the issue? If so, there has to
be a workaround as the previous install of RedHat did this correctly.
Last thing... If you can't mount an audio CD as a file system, how are
you supposed to use the fancy new CDripper built into the file
manager?
Anyone?
Thanks,
Sean
