Yep, it's the scan (refresh) rate of the monitor. You can set that too in
SaX2. When you test your setting, you use the arrows to increase the
verticle and horrizontal scan rate in 1 MHz increments to your liking. I
usually increase it until I get the really bright line at the top or the
left side of my desktop and take it one MHz back to get rid of it. This
gives me the highest attainable scan rate for that resolution. XP has
probably already set up your optimal scan rate for you, or at least one
fast enough that you don't notice the flicker.
You may also be able to run Kmenu-->System-->Configuration-->Screen Resize &
Rotate and you may be able to select a higher scan rate from there. I'd try
that first. However, for permenant results that work in all accounts, you
should do the SaX2 solution.
