DVD Recorder under SuSE 8.0

I'm interested in getting a DVD Recorder working under SuSE 8.0. Either IDE
or USB it wouldn't matter to me. Does anyone know if this is doable yet.
I'd basically like to burn AVI's, MP3's and use it for backup.
