]Hi,
]A reinstallation of Win98SE has overwritten the mbr on my hard drive, now I
]cannot boot into SuSE 8.2. I use the cd written from boot.iso in rescue
]mode and I can log in as root but when I run lilo it complains it cannot
]find /etc/lilo.conf. I have also tried mounting /dev/hda5 as reiserfs to
]/mnt which is successful and running lilo -C /mnt/etc/lilo.conf which was
]also unsuccessful. Can anybody help me with this? Thanks for looking.
With the rescue disk loaded
mount the disk partition containing /etc
mkdir /newroot
mount /dev/hda1 /newroot
lilo -r /newroot
and there you are.
