I've decided to go ahead with a Linux install on my Thinkpad, and believe
that, being new, Suse is the way forward - it looks the easiest option under
all the circumstances. The first problem is going to be getting the thing
running - the TP in question doesnt have any external bootable drives (it
relies on the IBM service partion for re-installing W2k).
I'm not worried overall, as I can reload W2k by plugging the disk in my
desktop and copying files across if I need to, but can anyone a: confirm
that it is possible and b: point me to a resource explain the hows of
loading Suse 8.2 from a Win disk partition? That is, copy the files onto the
hard disk using the non-bootable CD drive and then run it from there to
install on a blank partition (to be dual boot)??
TIA
