Can anyone tell me whats going wrong here? I have SuSE 8.1 Personal edition
but I've managed to get Apache/MySQL/PHP compiled from tar balls.

I'm now trying to install ImageMagick and it has a number of dependancies
that I don't have installed. For reference, I copied all my rpm's from SuSE
7.1 Professional to /data/software and wonder if its possible for me to ask
rpm to check /data/software for dependancies.

I can't install ImageMagick because the version of autoconf and automake I
had were too old. I've visited rpmfind and downloaded more recent versions
and attempted to load them - at first, my rpm --install
automake-1.7.2-32.src.rpm just returned the command prompt with no error - I
then passed a double verbose to it and get the following output.
