they are plain passwords to begin with, just vanilla alpha lower case
passwords

log out of KDE and back in as root or any user, works fine, but login to
kde (or windowmaker) as "oracle" and can't su to either root or oradba,
nor can you run anything from "oracle" or "oradba" session that requires
root priveledges. I am guessing that something in the root.sh script
that I first ran during oracle install corrputed su somehow? but thats
only a guess, when I get time I'll look at the script.
in the meantime, have to get su working again....somehow
