Hi all. I'm getting ready to go out an purchase an all-in-one printer
and I've done a great deal of searching for good information on which
makes and models are supported well in Linux. However, I'm a little
skeptical about claims that a device is supported because of all the
headaches I initially had with my Lexmark E-210 when I first bought it.
It came with Linux drivers, but nothing I could do would make it work
until RedHat 8 was released (it's been a while). I was then able to get
the printer working with no trouble. Anyway, I was just wondering if
anyone here has a recommendation for me. Any old all-in-one will do
nicely, but one with a built-in fax modem would be wonderful. I'm a
little nervous about setting my fax modem back up because last time I
did, it took over and killed my computer (long story). Please don't
point me to lists of supported devices. I've seen them all. I'm
interested in real-life experience here. Thanks in advance.
