    The books delivered with the SuSE distro might be a good start. Supposing
    you don't have them I can recommend The Linux Documentation Project
    (www.tldp.org). You will find tons of docu there.

    Which ISDN adapter? I had some strange behaviour with certain drivers for my
    fritz! adapter!

    connection to be checked the nameservers supposedly aren't correct.
     I'm told this after a period of time, around 5 minutes.

    Try the following: Next time you try to connect, open a shell and type in
    tail -fn100 /var/log/messages
    Then post the messages again. Maybe this might help.
