Load the CD and go to install. Switch to virtual console 2 and
load the driver if necessary as root and mount what you need.
I agree that the rescue system isn't too stellar in SuSE or SLES.

Regardless... I would a SuSE rescue kernel would be a 64GB one... but
can't say for sure at the moment (not looking at it right now).

Knoppix NOT being an example of an "enterprise" level distribution.
I think you meant to say :) rather than ;) which implied you
were somewhat serious.

Since SLES does support hardware SCSI RAID.. the statement is
false... I guess what sucks here is the SLES rescue system.

Knoppix is a good rescue system... certainly NOT an "enterprise"
class Linux... but a very good rescue system. A SLES CD can be used
as an effective rescue system if you use the Installation trick I
mentioned earlier. SuSE should improve their rescue option.
