Thank you for your response Wayne. The nvidia drivers were installed
manually from the ftp site. When I update with Yast, I do NOT select the
nvidia package. But each time I install the updates, I get prompted that
I will have to reinstall the drivers. Is there something that I'm
missing? Am I not unchecking something?
As for my internet connection, I have a cable connection. My modem is
plugged into a dlink router via ethernet as is my NIC. My router is set
to only give the IP of 192.168.0.2 to my NIC. If I am running the SuSE
firewall, I am not aware of it. One thing I've noticed about the Yast
update is that one of the security patches listed is a DHCP patch. I
haven't tried deselecting this patch yet, so I wouldn't doubt if that
has something to do with it.
Once again, thank you very much for your response. I would love to get
to the bottom of this. But in the mean time, I don't mind reinstalling
Suse completely because it lets me get more familiar with Linux itself.
