Internet Connection-

Can you ping an ipaddress if so then it is the nameservers that need to be
set up. Try 216.239.59.99 (that's google) if you can't can you try the
following things for me.

Try this first open a terminal window use su to become root and type the
following

tail -f /var/log/messages

Then open another terminal window again use "su" to become root and type the
following commands

ifconfig

Note the ip address, is it what you expect ?

If not then type /etc/rc.d/network restart
What appears to scroll past the first window after you type this ?
You should see an error about not being able to get a dhcp address, in which
case it is dhcp that is broken. come back to us if that is the case.

If it's got the right address then type route (again as root)

In the routing table that appears, what does it say the default route is (it
should be the dlink)

If it is not then the router is not giving out the correct gateway address
in it's dhcp settings (or SuSE is not getting the DHCP global)

If it is then try this, type traceroute 216.239.59.99
The first hop should be your router, how far does traceroute get ?

Nvidia drivers.

What I think I would do is select and install the drivers from YaST update.
It *should" overwrite the manually installed ones and all should be fine
come the next update. Does the monitor go out of scan range then. If so can
you mail me your /etc/X11/XF86Config file
