Steve, were it me, I would open Windows (assuming you are not using XP) and
run "fdisk" and delete all partitions on the hd. I would then create a
primary partition of about 8 - 10 gig and install Windows in it (loading
the "/winxx" directory to the hd and installing from it - that way the
stupid installer can find the files it needs to finish the install). Then
install SuSe and let it allocate the rest of the hd.
