Suse linux 9.0 is identifying my win modem correctly as "Gateway 2000
82801DB AC'97 Modem Controller". However, after setting up kinternet,
when I try to run, it shuts quickly. The log message of kinternet is
showing the following message:

"SuSE Meta pppd (smpppd-ifcfg), Version 1.06 on comp2.
Status is: disconnected
trying to connect to smpppd
connect to smpppd
Status is: disconnected
Status is: lurking
Status is: disconnected
pppd[0] died: pppd options error (exit code 2)"

Could someone suggest the solution, please?

Thanks
Pawan
