unable to select personal colors in kmail

Hi colegues;
Whem I select the personal color scheme checkbox in aspect configuration of
kmail, the colors are not changed and after exit the configuration menu the
checkbox is again not checked.
I use kmail 1.5 under SuSE 8.2
