Hello all..
I am a newbie under linux. I have been running suse 9.0 for 2 weeks now
and decided I liked it that much I deleted my windows XP partition using
the yast partition tool to free up some more space. I mounted this as a
new area and all works fine. However on removing the windows partition
grub seemed to get altered in some way ? At first the nice blue GUI boot
screen got lost and it would only boot showing the boot log in low res
white on black mode. I fixed this by adding the command vga=794 to the
boot line and that is now fixed...back to boot-up in 1280x1024 blue screen
mode.
However when I now run K3B I get this message which I did not before ?
cdrdao has problems with ATAPI writers When K3b 0.10 was released no
version of cdrdao was able to write without SCSI emulation. Although it is
possible that there actually is a version with ATAPI support it is
unlikely. Solution: A solution is to enable ide-scsi (SCSI emulation) for
all devices. You may also install a more recent version of cdrdao which
supports ATAPI devices.
So somehow scsi-ide emulation has got turned off ? I read that this is
started at boot so not sure how to fix this ?? Can anyone help please.
How do I turn this back on ?
