SuSE on Asus M2400N problem

hi,
i installed suse 9 pro on my asus m2400n laptop. everything works fine,
but after a while the keventd uses between 95 and 99 percent of the
system and the whole system gets slow. that only happens if the laptop
is plugged, with battery all works ok. i think it's possible that this
is an acpi problem. has anyone experience with acpi on laptops or the
same problem on another centrino laptop?
btw: kernel 2.4.21 (default)
