KDE vs Gnome screensavers

Since all X screensavers are stored in the same folder:
/usr/X11R6/lib/xscreensaver, so how do KDE and Gnome load different ones?

There are some screensavers loaded by Gnome that I would love to run in
KDE (Fyling Toasters and the GL slideshow screeensavers especially).

Not only that, there appear to be screensavers not loaded by either Gnome
or KDE like the fantastic OpenGL "Matrix" screensaver.

What configuation file do I need to tweak?
