Hi,
I recently bought SuSE 9.0 Pro to replace my 8.2 Pro (but this was a
mistake).
I first tested version 9.0 on a separate machine and it turned out to be a
major bummer.
Where 8.2 worked fine and had no problems at all, now with 9.0 it one
problem after another.
First of all, the Mozilla Firebird and the usual Mozilla are not showing
website as they should, but that's not very much of a problem, as I use
Netscape 7.
But the biggest problem is that I can no longer use my USB memory stick.
In SuSE 8.2, as soon as I connected it to the usb port it was detected by
the kernel and known as device /dev/sda.
I could mount it whenever I wanted in the console.
No, I connect the same stick to SuSE 9.0 Pro. It recognises the stick and
know it as /dev/sde (4 scsi devices ahead of it).
But then if I look at the kernel output, I get a very long list of IO errors
(mostly the same) and than nothing more...
I cannot mount the stick as it doesn't recognise the filesystem on it.
Even if I force it "mount -t vfat /dev/sde /mnt" it just doesn't work.
And a asked around on our Linux Forum and apparently, I'm not the only one
having this problem ??
Any ideas ?
Luc
