greets!
a discussion on the list about archiving kmail emails re-awakened my itch
to solve a problem sorting mails.
I have kmail stuff in both formats, mbox and maildir. that's not the
problem, I am having to have a solution that applies to either one if not
both.
I have individuals who write me who belong together in certain groups,
call them 'classes'. typically there are 10 to 25 people in each 'class'.
emails from them are sitting all over in my inbox.
I would like to sort them by removing them from the inbox and putting them
into separate folders according to their class. as far as I can see kmail
allows you to write one filter at a time. since I typically have two
classes, I have to write maybe 50 filters by hand.
instead I would like to put the email addresses or names in a list and
have the emails sort accordingly.
as far as I can see, the only solution involves me trying to script
something in Perl. I might be able to but I wondered if the solution
already exists?
