   Hi

   I'm having a problem starting my eth0 interface (it's a SiS900 integrated
on an EliteGroup motherboard), using SuSE Linux 9.0 upgraded to kernel
2.6-test5 by means of the official .rpm. I'm puzzled by it having worked
before - now I can't trace down the problem. The hardware is OK, when I boot
Knoppix, MandrakeMove or Windows it comes right up.

Am getting this error message when I try to start eth0 with the command
"ifup eth0":

ifup Could not get a valid interface name: -> skipped

I've tried to unconfigure the interface. Reading the config file, it
looks like a perfect example (can't enclose it, am in Windows).

Any ideas how to make the interface name valid?

   Happy new year!
