Well, with my Epson inkjet printer, the Windows driver gives me a
printer interface that shows me the levels of the inks (very useful with
six cartridges) and also allows me to set borderless prints, normal or
centred printout, colour control via ICM, various preset settings or
direct control through slider settings, and allows me to save
configuration settings so that I can easily select my favourite settings
for, say, high-quality colour photos on glossy paper or text printout on
normal paper etc. This is all highly useful, which is why my photography
PC is running Windows (because I can't afford a Mac). That, and a few
other reasons.
