Pan's default "article"

Hello - is there a way to get rid of the "Pan 0.14.0 Copyright..." etc
article that comes up every time I open Pan? Of course I appreciate
the great software (I'm using my bought-and-paid-for SuSE 9.0 from
the box I got at Best Buy), but would just like to open the usenet
client with no messages showing until I click a newsgroup.
