NVidia 3D enable

Hello,
I am trying to get my Suse 8.2 to enable the 3d acceleration on my
Nvidia card. I used Yast to update my system and I checked the Nvidia
3D drivers when they came up in the list...however, when I go to use
Sax2 or run the 'switch2nvidia_glx' script...nothing seems to happen
and Sax2 repeatedly tells me that I do not have the Nvidia 3D drivers
installed....What am I doind wrong?
