Are Suse Linux Internet App's Compatible with MSN Network?

Hi,

For several reasons, my wife and I have decided to go from a single
line dialup account - and all the phone-internet conflicts! - to a dsl
line (256 K). At the same time, I am planning to move from Windows XP
to Suse Linux (little by little) for my normal online work (browsing,
email) as well as office functions (using open office 1.1).
Eventually, I will only use Windows XP for any weekend game play.

In our area, by far the cheapest DSL connection is offered by the
phone company but it only features MSN! Arggghhhh.... This brings up
a question:

Are the Linux KDE browser (Konqueror or perhap Opera or Mozilla?),
email (Kmail or perhaps Thunderbird) compatible with the MSN network?
I am told that, as always, I can get MSN mail with any good mail
client used for popmail and smtp servers. But will the Linux internet
software be compatible with the MSN network, run by that big company
up in Redmond, Washington?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thank you.

Bob Riley
