As was mentioned before, don't *copy* them, make .iso files from them,
so you have an 'image' of the disk. BTW, it's perfectly fine for your
friend to make copies and give them to you; he just can't *sell* them.

As for floppy boot, the SUSE website used to have instructions on how
to make them. You could also search this ng on groups.google.com; I
believe this has been discussed before.

And my two cents: if you're new to Linux, it's *much* better if you
buy the boxed set and have the books available for install and normal
use instructions. SUSE's books, alone, are worth the purchase price.
