Oh boy ! this is Unix... so if you try to print when
your printer is off the printing system just stops
sending data to the printer and collects each job
until you start the printer queue manually
you are using cups, so you can
1. open http://localhost:631 in your browser, select
"Printers" page and click "start Printer" on the one
you want to start or
2. open a shell and type "/usr/bin/enable <name of
printer>" (add a path to enable because there is a
builtin shell command with the same name)
