Volume control problem after 3.2.1 upgrade

Hello

I updated to KDE 3.2.1, and then installed a lot of ximian paackages for
the latest Evolution. My version of kamix, the mixer program is
kamix-0.0.7e-51.

Since the update, the only way I can change the volume (master) is to
bring up the full mixer. If I click on the speaker icon in the panel,
it brings up the Master volume control, but when I touch any part of it
with the mouse, it disappears. I cannot adjust the volume from that
control. Yet, when I bring up the full mixer, I can adjust the master
volume on the playback tab. What gone on?
