Hey, I can hope can't I? I really wish SuSE would dump their current system
in favor of using apt and integrate it into YaST.

What happened to me was a broken K3b that I couldn't fix because the
repository, in this case Packman, took down the file in favor of a new file
that required KDE 3.2.1, but I'm running KDE 3.1.4 and don't want to
upgrade to the newer KDE. So, I tried going back to the original SuSE
version via YaST, but now YaST wanted to do a ton of stuff to fix
dependencies that were totally fictitious. Apparently, after running apt
Synaptic, YaST got confused. My only hope was to wipe and reinstall SuSE 9.
Thank goodness it only takes about an hour and a half... K3b now works
well, except that it's the broken SuSE version. I can burn mp3 disks on my
Windows machine with Nero for now.

SuSE 9.1 will be here soon and I'll get everything installed and upgraded to
non-broken version really soon.
