Dear Suse users I would be grateful for some assistance in resolving my
modem problem so I can configure and connect to the internet.
I have just installed v 9.0 Professional. Cannot connect to internet as Yast
installation has not detected internal modem, Smart Link 56k PCI. Has
incorrectly detected another manufacturer's modem. Have downloaded Linux
driver from manufacturer's website but at this point problems just begin.
Quite unfamilair with Linux command structure. Specifically would refer you
to http://www.smlink.com/main/down/linux_instructions.txt . I get
completely lost at 3. "Review and edit (if need) 'Makefile'. Note: Probably
you will want to correct Makefile path to you local linux kernel header
files: KERNEL_INCLUDES=/path/to/linux/include" At this point I regret
to say I am completely out of my depth. Can someone please find the time to
guide me through this specific instruction or guide me to an appropriate
source of information.
With many thanks
