I think you might be better off doing a search on google groups for any
answers to this one, it has been asked here a few times and in other
groups, and as far as I can remember no-one has reported back with a
definitive fix for that modem.

However that is not to say that there is not a fix but I had not found one
up till xmas.

I started last year sometime trying to get a Sagem 800 running for a mate of
mine and spent about 2 weeks d/loading stuff and compiling modules and
never got it to work.

In the end I persuaded him to get a proper ethernet modem/router and it was
configured in about 30 seconds and he was on the net.

I got one of mine from Argos it is the Binatone ADSL 2000, it has eth and
usb ( both work under Suse as well ) both can be used at the same time so
you can actually have 2 machines running without a hub, it does nat and a
few other things, is configured from the browser.

It does not have a lot of bells and whistles but for the price £44 it is a
real bargain ( good jpb he was a mate as I would have charged more for the
work on the Sagem piece of cr^p ), mine has been on since last Sept and has
worked a treat.

I have also got another 4 port 10/100 switch modem/router but I cannot for
the life of me get that to work at all and that cost £90, so am using it as
a switch at the moment ( damn expensive one at that )
