Ok, a lot of this is from memory so you may have to interpolate way more
than you might like! :-) If you can see it, I believe that means you
have 'X-Face' support compiled in to Sylpheed. Good.
First, pick a picture or graphic you'd like to attach to msgs (you can
have a different one on each account). Using Gimp, convert it to 48x48
pixels monochrome (1-bit depth). Then go to this site:
and read through the site, then play with converting it. I believe you
can also do it with 'compface' if installed, but I've never tried that.
Once you have it looking the way you want, copy the result from that
web page to a text file on your box. Then run Sylpheed, go to
Configuration -> Edit Accounts and select the account you want to use.
Click Edit, go to Send, check the 'Add additional headers' (or words to
that effect) and then check the Edit button next to it. Select the
'X-Face' header from the drop down box and then copy/paste the contents
of your saved text file. I can't verify this while I'm composing a msg,
but this should be pretty close -- if you have any questions, just ask.
