Can I play? :-)
It depends on what you want to learn about Linux. I favor task-oriented
learning to start with. Theory is really good, if you have the head for
it, but just getting through the various user tasks is probably more
important at first.
First, a word of advice: *Don't get in a hurry* -- making mistakes is a
necessary learning experience, but you need not make *all* of them to learn.
Next, learn to cruise the Linux tutorial sites, as mentioned in other
posts on this thread. Also realize that there are very many
task-oriented tutorials scattered across the Internet, offered up by
average users and experts all over. For example, I wrote some font
display tutorials, some stuff on FreeBSD, and some basic "clueless user"
theory material:

I'll guess much of it won't meet your needs, but it serves as an
example. Also, see the Help Icon in your KDE menu. SUSE's Help Browser
has a SuSE tour and an administrator's guide, all nicely formatted.
Lastly, ask questions. At least some of us here just *love* helping
newbies, and you can even get away with bugging us by email. If we offer
an addy in our signature block, you can bet we are holding the door
open. I'll assume you have civility worked out, given the tone of your post.
