Network is fine. Apps launch more slowly. When I drag windows on screen,
the screen redraws more slowly. Hard drive is fine.

No. I will give it a try.

KMail, Konqueror, Word under WineRack is VERY slow. Opens files slowly,
menus lag between the click and the dropdown. I dont really expect a
Windows program under emulation to run as fast as a native app, but its
exceedingly slow.

256MB. I think its an ATI Radeon. Whatever came with the ThinkPad.

It does boot slower. It wont shutdown at all! Everytime I try to shut
the computer down from Linux, it hangs where the progress bar is about
98% of the way done. I eventually have to push the power switch to shut
the computer off.
So...what do you think is going on?
