Why I'm going back to windows from Suse.

First off..this is not intended to start a flame war...I will continue
to have a linux machine in my house however it will NOT be my primary
desktop.
I've given an honest effort to run Suse as my primary desktop for the
last 3 months. In that time I've enjoyed some aspects of Suse and
dreaded others....while the experience is fresh in my memory I want to
list some of the frustrations I ran into in the hopes linux will
continue to grow and someday address them.

Frustrations:
1) Minolta 1250W Laser Printer - Not supported at all. (it's a
winprinter so partially my fault but still a frustration)
2) Dlink DSB-C103 webcam - supposedly supported but after numerous
discussions with the author cam still does not work on Suse.
3) NO Webcam recording software for linux such as Aloecam, Webcam
Watcher or ADVANCED LG on windows. [A partial solution was to run
webcam watcher in wine] *Note this is software that records multiple
webcams on the net..not that grabs a jpg and uploads it somewhere*
4) Could not get my samsung x105 phone modem to work with linux to
establish a ppp connection. Works fine with easygprs on windows.
5) It took a major act of God to get my wireless card working in Suse
and even then when I go from place to place and try to use DIFFERENT
essid's it's still a major pain to set them up..in windows the new
essid just shows up and you enter any needed passwords.

I'm a computer programmer for a living..been using linux from the
console for quite a while...the fact I have a technical background and
still could not get my gprs modem to talk to linux was the final issue
which convinced me to stick with windows. I don't want to have to
whip out tcpdump and ethereal to figure out why the windows machines
can establish a ppp connection and the linux one's don't. I want
stability and functionality but not at the expense of spending all my
freetime debugging things after I just spent all day doing the same
thing for a living.

Perhaps I'll try again in a year or two.
