Hi,
I just installed the ati drivers from suse and got fireGL to work with my
radeon 9500 on Suse 9.1. All graphics are real pretty now (well they were
pretty before, but now...)
A couple of side effects that will ultimately make the driver unusable for
me are:
1. the refresh rate is, well, how do I put this nicely, really bad. I have
checked the x86config files, sax2 and they all say the right things about
my monitors h and v-sync, a Illyama Vision Master Pro 451. But its not the
same as before. I can see the screen flicker. Furthermore, there is no way
to Resize and Rotate my display. It says Your X server does not support...
when I start the app.
2. Linux sometimes does not install mouse and keyboard on boot. This NEVER
happened before and is quite annoying, since I can not log on and have to
reboot my computer 2-3 times.
I really like fireGL and the improved rendering of the graphics, but I work
on my computer and I want my 94 refresh rate back along with the knowledge
that when I turn my computer on I will be able to use it.
Can anyone help me with these issues?
TIA,
Jacky
