Hi all
I've installed SuSE 9.1 on a ASUS A7V8xx/WD-80 GB Desktop
and cannot boot the XP since then. Can somebody help?
The HD was already patitoned
hda1 - NTFS (WinXP System)
hda2 - NTFS (Windows D:\ )
hda3 - Linux swap
hda4 - Linux 0x83
At first I did a "default" installation accepting everything
from the installer. All went fine, but the reboot inbetween
just drops to GRUB command-line.
Repeating the excercise with ACPI disabled didn't help.
A third try with ext2 and LILO works OK for Linux
(I get the LILO option screen can boot Linux) but
WinXP won't start :(
At first comes a warning "not properly shut down, ..",
irespecive of my choice (normal boot, safe mode, ..) it
startes reading some files very fast and then suddenly
brings black screen.
Tried booting to Linux and adjusting LILO parameter.
Wenn I execute LILO it warns
Kernel recognizes 9845 63 16 C/H/S
BIOS 1024 255 16 C/H/S
use LBA
(the numbers are examples).
Wenn I go to bios it shows something line 13000 Cylinders!
(Modes Auto/LBA).
What is happening?
Arun
