I'd agree with your comments overall. However often the same questions occur
time and again, which can be answered just by searching this particular
group, let alone google.
It is however a waste of everyones time if someone asks for example "how do
i get my printer or modem working" and doesn't even bother to state the
hardware or suse version, even if they are an absolute beginner.
One thing for certain, the number of newbies in this group proves that linux
is flourishing.... and this newsgroup is certainly more forgiving than some
of the other linux newsgroups out there.
