weather station software?

Can someone reccommend software to use with a weather station (a real
local one, not one simply linked to a station somewhere on the net)?

Thanks

(I've tried to install wx/net, but the install script keeps trying to
make directories and then coming back with:

MKDIR
Error creating: No such file or directory

Also, the install docs are crap, even by Linux standards, with not just
incomplete but conflicting info.)
