Hi everybody!
I'm new to the world of Linux.
I installed SuSE 9.0 Professional and afterwards I installed a modem
driver, the one described at:
http://portal.suse.com/sdb/en/2002/05/configSpeedTouch.html
(Actually, it was a particular version of that modem management software
package that I downloaded from a link in a newsgroup but I can't
remember which one.)
The problem is that after the installation of the driver, some
applications suddenly seemed to be very slow (the SuSE help center among
others) and most strangely, when I'm under GNOME, I can't log out!
(When I click on the "End session" button, the entire GNOME menu and
toolbar seems to freeze and doesn't respond, and I have to hit
Ctrl+ALt+Back to log out.)
Can anyone tell me what's going on?
Did the installation of the modem driver bust something?
Did I download a virus? (Could be possible, since I downloaded the modem
driver from a link in a newsgroup.)
Should I reinstall SuSE 9.0 Pro?
Thanks very much,
Have a nice day,
AM
