2 weeks to install Linux? And you claim this shows you have a superior

It takes me on average about 1 hour to install Linux. And I don't have the
"background" you claim.

But all the apps you need come installed at initial install time, then just
update with YOU. What "something new" would they want? They'll already have
IRC, browser, email, multimedia players, office suite ...
